We arrived in Dulles around one and began the scenic drive, including an unintentional detour through downtown D.C., to Solomons. Solomons is a very pretty little town with an outlandishly tall bridge we drove over maybe six times for the thrill of it. Isabelle and I explored the area some and then got all gussied up for the Grand Opening Gala of Annmarie Gardens new arts building. The Gala was a black tie affair including exhibits from Olga Hirshhorn's Recollects as well as Re.action. It was amazing to see my work in the midst of the new buildings success and being exhibited anywhere near the works of Picasso, Calder, Serrano, and Matisse. All the women working Annmarie Garden as well as Juror Mark Ward (Deputy Director of the Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore) were amicable and I admire them for putting together such an incredible event. I am also grateful for their choice to provide liberal portions of the best oysters I have ever consumed.

The next day we explored some of the art galleries in Washington D.C.
My favorite was Randall Scott Gallery, which was exhibiting the work of Sarah Wilmer.
